FTW HIIT

This post is different than my typical posts, but I want to roll out more exercise content for 2020. I’ll be tweaking the format, so any feedback would be much appreciated (in other words let me know if this format is trash or a keeper).

I wanted to start with a routine that I’ve had success with for a few years called HIIT (I’ll elaborate below). This type of routine is excellent for gamers and home office deskers because it packs a ton of exercise in under 20 minutes.

The routine is a HIIT (high-intensity interval training) based routine, which means there will be short bursts of exertion followed by short rests or more chill exercises. Here are a couple of reasons why I love doing HIIT routines.

  1. Bang for your buck: You’re able to burn more while performing the routine in a shorter time frame when compared to jogging/running. https://www.pennmedicine.org/news/news-blog/2018/march/the-workout-debate-experts-weigh-in-on-cardio-vs-hiit

  2. No equipment necessary (but encouraged once you master proper form):

  3. Total Body: Most of these moves involve the entire body and promote coordination with movement rather than mindless running on a treadmill. https://www.runnersworld.com/training/a25335864/high-intensity-interval-training/

  4. Heart health focus: “The more aerobically fit you are, the better your heart can pump blood, the longer it takes you to get out of breath, and the farther and faster you’re able to bike or run or swim.” And that, in turn, can help prevent heart disease.

Wrapping Up

The editing of this video was done by longtime friend Dr. David Castro, who is a legit wizard when it comes to drawing, video production, and editing. My camera skills on my iPhone are subpar to say the least. The amount of magic he puts in to make it look this good is truly mind blowing. Check him out here!

Shout out once again to Zenkai Sports for providing the awesome apparel. The tech in the material is nutty. The soft feel and the ability to wear it 4-5 times without it smelling whatsoever are huge selling points. Oh it’s environmentally conscious in production and materials.

Use my code FTW20 to save 20% and use that money to buy a battle pass.

How was the workout? EZ or OOF?

I know it was rough, but you’ll feel better today knowing that you stressed your body. Exercising at least 3x a week is crucial for your short term gaming success and your long term health. Do more and be more!
